"Lesson" class
- Work individually with the teacher in a master class setting with other students of a similar age and/or level.
- Bring a 'polished' piece for the teacher on the first day. A polished piece is a piece that has been prepared to the child's highest ability and is not the current piece. Please ask your home teacher to help determine your polished piece.
- During the week, the Institute teacher may choose to work on other repertoire in addition to the polished piece.
- Some younger students may have two lesson classes daily instead of a large group experience.
"Small Group" classes
- Tonalization and technique development through polishing of previously learned repertoire
- Students assigned to chamber music classes are not assigned to a "Small Group" class
- Please consult the review list to prepare most effectively
"Large Group" classes
- Repertoire review
- Concert pieces are polished
- Motivating, fun activities are shared
- Please consult the review list to prepare most effectively
"Enrichment" classes
- Fiddling, Bass for Cellists, Cello Choir, Cello Improvisation, Musicianship, Viola Choir, Viola for VIolinists, or Orchestra
- Assigned to students according to repertoire level and age
"Advanced Technique" classes (Advanced Program)
- Stress the finer points of tone and technical development through intensive study of scales, etudes, and other supplementary repertoire.
"Chamber Music" classes (Chamber and Advanced Programs)
- Develop ensemble skills, study new repertoire, and develop rapport with other highly motivated students
"Piano Coaching" classes (Advanced Program)
- Refine prepared pieces for performance

- Repertoire and theory experience designed for review of concepts specifically related to the piano student.
"Large Group" classes (Performance Class)
- Provide the pianist an opportunity to perform for an audience of their peers in an informal atmosphere.

- Musicianship, Chines, Conducting, or Piano Literature
- Assigned to each student according to repertoire level and age.
