CSI RECITAL ETIQUETTE
Congratulations on being nominated to perform! To make the experience as rewarding as possible, here are some guidelines to follow as you prepare for the concert and when you perform.
All recitals take place on the campus of Trinity International University - Locations TBD!
1. Our piano collaborators have accompanying parts for all the Suzuki repertoire. Prior arrangements must be made if you are playing a piece outside of the Suzuki Repertoire.
2. It is not absolutely necessary to get "all dressed up" for your performance, but you might want to keep in mind that how you look makes an impression even before you play. A good guideline is to wear what your parent thinks you should wear. See HERE for dress code suggestions.
3. Performers should acknowledge applause by bowing. Bow as you enter when the audience applauds, and bow at the conclusion of your performance. If the applause continues after you have gone offstage, return to the stage center for another bow. Please remember to acknowledge the accompanist as well.
4. A pleasant smile at the end of your performance makes everyone feel good!
5. Remember that a performer almost never plays the piece as perfectly as they would like. You are aware of every mistake, but the audience is not. Don’t make faces or show your displeasure with your performance. Enjoy it, and let the audience enjoy the performance as well.
